Setup Guide

Forward your calls. We handle the rest.

No apps to install. No hardware to buy. No new phone number. Just simple call forwarding from the phone you already have.

Three steps. That's it.

Most owners are live in under 5 minutes. Here's the full process from sign-up to your first AI-answered call.

1

Pick a plan

Choose Starter, Professional, or Premium. Instant checkout — no demos, no waiting.

2

We build your agent

Within 24 hours, we create your custom AI voice — trained on your business, your services, your way.

3

Forward your calls

One setting on your phone. Unanswered calls go to RingVault instead of voicemail. Done.

Choose your phone

Select your device below for step-by-step forwarding instructions.

1

Open Settings

From your home screen, open the Settings app on your iPhone.

2

Go to Phone settings

Scroll down and tap Phone.

Settings → Phone
3

Tap Call Forwarding

Tap Call Forwarding and toggle it on. You'll then need to choose your forwarding type (see options below).

Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding If you don't see this option, your carrier may not support it through Settings. Use the dial code method below instead.
4

Enter your RingVault number

Type in the dedicated RingVault phone number we assign to your business. This is the number your unanswered calls will forward to.

We'll provide your RingVault number during onboarding — within 24 hours of sign-up.

You're live

That's it. Any call you can't answer now goes to your AI receptionist instead of voicemail. You'll get a text summary after every call.

Alternative: Dial codes

If Call Forwarding doesn't show in Settings, you can set it up by dialing a code. Open your Phone app and dial:

*71 + [RingVault #] Forward all unanswered calls
*73 Turn off forwarding

Dial codes vary by carrier. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon all support *71 for conditional forwarding. We'll confirm the right code for your carrier during setup.

1

Open the Phone app

Open your Phone app (the one you use to make calls — not Settings).

2

Open Settings

Tap the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner, then tap Settings.

Phone → ⋮ → Settings On Samsung devices, this may be under Settings → Call Settings instead.
3

Find Call Forwarding

Tap Calling accounts (or Supplementary services), select your SIM, then tap Call forwarding.

Settings → Calling accounts → Call forwarding
4

Set "When unanswered"

Tap Forward when unanswered and enter your RingVault phone number. This sends calls to AI only when you don't pick up — your phone still rings first.

You can also set "When busy" and "When unreachable" to the same number for full coverage.

You're live

Done. Calls you miss now go to RingVault instead of voicemail. You'll get a text summary with the caller's name, reason, and urgency after every call.

Alternative: Dial codes

Works the same way on Android. Open your Phone app and dial:

**61*[RingVault #]# Forward when unanswered
**67*[RingVault #]# Forward when busy
##61# Turn off forwarding

These are GSM standard codes and work on most carriers. We'll confirm the right ones for your setup during onboarding.

1

Check your phone system

Call forwarding works differently depending on whether you have a traditional landline, VoIP system (like RingCentral, 8x8, or Vonage), or a PBX. We'll help you figure out the best method during onboarding.

2

VoIP systems

Most VoIP platforms have call forwarding built into their admin portal. Log in, find the forwarding or call routing settings, and set unanswered calls to forward to your RingVault number.

If you use RingCentral, 8x8, Vonage, Ooma, or similar — we've set up forwarding on all of them. We'll walk you through it.
3

Traditional landlines

Pick up the phone and dial the forwarding code for your carrier. Most traditional carriers use:

*72 + [RingVault #] To cancel: dial *73. Codes vary by carrier — we'll confirm during setup.

We handle the rest

Once forwarding is active, RingVault picks up every call you can't. No equipment changes, no IT involvement, no downtime.

Choose how calls reach us

There are different types of call forwarding. Most RingVault customers use conditional forwarding — your phone rings first, and only unanswered calls go to AI.

🚫 When busy

If you're already on a call, the next incoming call goes straight to RingVault instead of getting a busy signal or going to voicemail.

Busy forwarding

📡 When unreachable

Phone off, dead battery, no signal — calls go to RingVault automatically. No missed calls even when you're off the grid.

Not reachable forwarding

↪️ Forward all calls

Every call goes directly to RingVault without your phone ringing. Useful for after-hours, vacations, or if you want AI handling 100% of calls.

Unconditional forwarding

Setup FAQ

Do I need a new phone number? +
No. RingVault works through call forwarding on your existing number. Your customers call the same number they always have. We assign you a separate RingVault number behind the scenes, but your callers never see it.
Will my phone still ring? +
With conditional forwarding (recommended), yes — your phone rings normally. RingVault only picks up if you don't answer. If you choose "forward all calls," your phone won't ring and every call goes directly to AI.
Do I need to install an app? +
No. Call forwarding is a built-in feature of every phone and carrier. There's nothing to download, no app to manage, and no hardware to buy. Just one setting change and you're live.
Can I turn it off easily? +
Yes — just toggle call forwarding off in your phone settings, or dial the deactivation code (usually *73). Forwarding stops immediately. Turn it back on whenever you want.
Does this work with my carrier? +
Call forwarding is supported by every major US carrier including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and all MVNOs. It also works with business VoIP systems like RingCentral, 8x8, and Vonage. If you have an unusual setup, we'll sort it out during onboarding.
Does call forwarding cost extra? +
Most carriers include conditional call forwarding at no additional charge. Some carriers may charge for unconditional (forward-all) forwarding as it uses airtime minutes. Check with your carrier if you're unsure — we can help during onboarding.
